Life à la Laura
The Return Of Lauracalder.com
Hi! I’m back!
An embarrassingly long time ago, I decided my Website needed an update, so I took it down. Unfortunately, it then stayed down, because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with it or say on it. I wondered, too, if Web sites still had any use, what with everyone racing off to Facebook and twitter. In fact, I joined that throng myself, and it was fun for a while, but eventually it felt like subsisting on a diet of snacks and never sitting down to a full meal. Well, that’s “not me”, as they say, I need to dine! And so: the return of lauracalder.com.
As you can see, this is a very simple site, the dynamic component being “Life à la Laura”, where I’ll share ideas and tales about food, friends, and interesting things I find. Posts fall in a single stream, but are archived in three categories: Friends & Food contains posts about people who I think are doing interesting things related to food, along with recipes; Laura Loves is where you’ll find objects of interest to me (and note that clicking on the photos in this category will expand them so you can see objects in full); and finally Letters from Laura is where I’ll pop up occasionally to touch base, as I’m doing now, and give you a more personal update.
After a fall and winter in Paris, I opted for a Canadian summer, partly on the east coast and partly on the west, where I’m holed up right now in a small fishing village wrapping up testing on my next book, Paris Express. (At least I know that my recipes collected in Paris work in the remotest of parts!) I’ll be heading back to Paris in early September to finish up the project and I promise to write again when I get there. Hope all is very well with you! Enjoy the site!
